Genoa, shirt without sponsor as a tribute to the city of Genoa

Genoa pays homage to the city of Genoa in the week of Saint George, celebrating the city with a version of the home shirt which features the writing Genova and the crossed shield of Saint George on the sleeves: Gilardino’s players will wear it next Monday in the postponement at Marassi against Cagliari. Great satisfaction from President Zangrillo: “Genoa is an integral part of the city and inextricably linked to its history and roots. We are proud to represent a territory that is an expression of culture, humanity and civilization. Genoa recalls art, beauty and industriousness in the world. Our thanks go to the sponsors for sharing the initiative, renouncing the display of their brands on the playing shirts during the match against Cagliari. We appreciate it as an act of significant generosity and participation in the event. Our fans are a qualifying element of the growth path that the club is proposing in various forms. A journey made of enthusiasm and passion, demonstrated by the exceeding of 500 thousand seasonal home attendances in the championship”.

The traditional red and blue quarter shirt, produced by the technical sponsor Kappa, was decorated, on the front, with a patch bearing the writing “Genova” and, on the sleeves, with the crossed shield to recall the banner of San Giorgio. The shirts worn by the players will be auctioned on the club’s eBay channel and the funds raised will be donated to a local charity. The shirts launched for the Flag Day will be available to the public in the home, away and third variants (kombat and kombat pro), both in physical stores and on the e-commerce channel.
