As anticipated yesterday by the editorial staff of Infodifesa, today we are able to provide more details on the tragic story that saw a young student sergeant of the Carabinieri take her own life in the barracks of the Carabinieri Student School in Florence.
The 25-year-old girl shot herself with her service pistol after locking herself in her room. Some comrades raised the alarm and rushed to the scene immediately but were unable to rescue her in time. Resuscitation attempts by 118 were also in vain.
The Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit and the PM on duty intervened on site and started investigations to reconstruct the dynamics and causes of the tragic gesture of the young student marshal.
The victim was attending the second year of the course and was close to completing the training course at the Marshal Cadet School. Colleagues seem to have ruled out that she had shown any signs of discomfort or malaise recently.
The Prosecutor’s Office ordered an autopsy and analysis of the girl’s cell phone and PC to gather useful elements for the investigation into a death that shocked the force and the entire city.

The Corps specifies that precisely with regards to suicides, a memorandum of understanding was recently signed with the National Council of the Order of Psychologists which allows staff and family members to benefit from specialist services at discounted rates. Furthermore, from 1 January 2022, a listening service managed by psychologists was activated, accessible via a toll-free number, which guarantees assistance in anonymity and respect for privacy to soldiers who need it and request it.
