Naples, 22 April 2024 – Il Casalesi clan infiltrated the Pnrr procurement with a Rome company involved in public tenders and later turned out to be fictitious. A clone company to circumvent the anti-mafia regulations for which a emergency preventive seizure to stop all its affairs, including 5 contracts already awarded between Naples and Caserta. A provision carried out by Dia of NaplesAnti-Mafia Investigation Directorate, on mandate from the DDA, District Anti-Mafia Directorate, which was adopted as part of an investigation recently launched against entrepreneurs from the province of Caserta accused of having fictitiously registered the shares and representation of the company, engaged in public construction sectorin order to preserve the economic interests of subjects currently accused as they are considered contiguous to the Casalesi clan, Zagaria faction.

The clone company

In particular, the investigations delegated to Dia by the Naples Prosecutor’s Office made it possible to acquire serious clues on the hypothesis that a company from Rome, which was awarded new public contracts, it was in line with absolute continuity and continued the activities of another previous company investigated and already subjected to seizure. Practically, a clone company of a previous company believed by investigators to be in the hands of the Casalesi clan of the Zagaria faction. According to investigators, the new company would have adopted a different only formal appearancewith new members and new directors, adopting various devices, in order to circumvent anti-mafia legislation and avoid possible prevention measures, such as setting a registered office in Rome turned out to be only fictitious. The same company, however, was found winner of 5 public contracts, 3 of which were financed with Pnrr funds, in various areas of the provinces of Naples and Caserta.

The company administrator was investigated

The company affected by the seizure order carried out by Dia was active in the province of Caserta and had already been subjected to seizure. According to what we learn, now his judicial administrator is under investigation for not having adopted the control tools for the management of the means and activities that had been entrusted to its custody and supervision, also to allow the correct execution of a contract that was already in charge of that company, consisting of the restructuring for the reuse for social purposes of a property confiscated from the Camorra. The criminal proceedings in the context of which the Naples Prosecutor’s Office ordered the seizure originates from elements collected following the checks carried out during accesses ordered by the Prefect of Naples to the construction sites of public procurement in the Neapolitan metropolitan area. Today’s seizure is part of a coordination framework between the preventive control activity of the Prefect Michele of Bari and the judicial activity directed by the Prosecutor Nicola Gratteri.
