Final preparations to set up the Mint Museum for the third edition ofArt of the Pilgrim, starting Thursday (April 25). The event will occupy the entire structure of the Antica Zecca di Lucca which is open, with free entry, both in the usual conference hall (entrance in Piazzale Verdi) and in the museum (entrance in the city walls) so as to offer visitors a wide choice of interests.

The Pilgrim’s Art is the result of constant collaboration between various associations, such as Il Sogno di Costantino Odv, the Promo-Terr Association, Flag-wavers and Musicians of the City of Lucca, and is part of the ViviLucca24 of the Municipality of Lucca.

The festival will begin with an extemporaneous painting of the theme Streets and wayfarers in Lucca the works created will remain on display until May 1st, the day on which the technical jury composed of Renato Gèrard, Andrea Pucci and Michele Lovi (all painters) will proclaim this year’s winners.

The official opening of the four-day Pellegrino at 11 will be entrusted to the association Flag-wavers and musicians of the city of Lucca historic group made up of flag-wavers and drummers, who will liven up Piazza Verdi with flags and sounds from times gone by.

There will be many meetings linked to the walks, spread over the four days, but there will be space for some selected book presentations (for appointment times, please refer to the general programme).

In addition to the topical meetings and presentations, there will be an opportunity to learn on Sunday (April 28). the history of pilgrims and knights of the Middle Agesthanks to the guided tour On the pilgrim paths visiting the places in the city where their testimonies have survived (the mansions of the Knights Templar and the Tau of Altopascio).
