The North Face Clean up hike initiative arrives in Cuneo to clean up waste from the paths – Targatocn.it

If we took all the plastic bottles and soft drink cans scattered across Europe every year and stacked them on top of each other, they would form a mountain about 10,000 times taller than Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe. The Litterbug 2.0 2023 report by Policy Exchange in the UK found that around 243 million non-alcoholic plastic bottles and cans are abandoned in Europe each year.

With an average height of 20 cm, these objects would reach a height of 48.6 million meters if stacked on top of each other – 10,103 times more than the height of Mont Blanc. An impressive fact that confirms how widespread the terrible habit of abandoning waste in nature is.

Last year, The North Face launched a series of initiatives that led to the cleaning of more than 6,500 km of trails across Europe and in 2024 it will return to do more.

With the involvement of all members of the athlete community, ambassadors and consumers, CLEAN UP HIKE returns for Earth Week.

The initiativeto Clean-Up-Hike scheduled at Cuneo is scheduled for Saturday 27 April. The excursion will be led by environmental hiking guides, researchers and experts in mountain sports activities.

This is the program of the day: Meeting at 9am in Cuneo, at The North Face shop in Corso Nizza 31. Meeting at 10am in Entracque, Church of Sant’Antonio, with return to the cars scheduled for 3.30pm-4pm

Path: Simple ring, rather varied in terms of environments crossed, of great charm and with excellent views. You will pass through the Gorge della Reina gorge and the splendid coniferous forest of Colletto della Lausa. Along the way we will have the opportunity to appreciate the spring blooms.
