the Municipality allocates funds after protests from hoteliers and residents

PESARO Potholes, uneven surfaces, slalom pavements: the Municipality is making a patch. As soon as the weather permits, an extraordinary round of maintenance and repairs to the roads will begin in areas where there have been numerous reports and complaints in recent times. Among these, several had come from the seaside area, in the stretch behind Viale Trieste, where hoteliers and residents highlighted the state of abandonment of some areas, even more evident after the Municipality intervened to restore the sidewalks of Viale Fiume. So fresh from the approval of the municipal council on 18 April, there are three resolutions, each of 190 thousand euros of economic framework of works for the extraordinary maintenance of urban roads, local roads and extra-urban sections. These are buffer interventions which were also supported by the inspection of the technicians who found the disastrous state of several roads, also a consequence of the bad weather.

In detail

But inside the last minute package there are not only roads but also a dozen driveways and sidewalks. The councilor with responsibility for Maintenance Enzo Belloni speaks of approximately 600 thousand euros of investment. And so, after a first round of extraordinary maintenance which ended in recent months, other interventions have been planned with the available resources and the budget surplus. We will therefore intervene in the areas where potholes cause more difficulties for vehicles. The next interventions planned by the Public Works service include more incisive asphalting in some sections, where cold asphalt applied as a buffer alone is neither sufficient nor more sustainable. But interventions are also planned for sidewalks or cycle/pedestrian paths where depressions are a risk for pedestrians and bicycles. This is a truly extraordinary operation ready to start between the end of the month and the beginning of May. Work which, weather permitting, should be completed in a month and a half.

Here is the list of roads area by area with interventions on carriageways, cycle paths and sidewalks. Urban roads: therefore start with the asphalting of the pavements of via Milazzo, Cinque Torri district, via Santa Veneranda and the sidewalks along the Panoramica Ardizio. Above all, hoteliers and economic activities applaud the restoration of the sidewalks along Viale della Vittoria, the state of the walkways for the pardons is more disastrous than ever with depressions and asphalt damaged by tree roots.

The complaints

The case of the sidewalks of Viale della Vittoria had been reported for some time, since the summer of a year ago, especially for those dangerous bumps caused by tree roots. Overall, however, it is remembered that for the current year the Administration has already invested 230 thousand dedicated in particular to the Viale Fiume sidewalks and other small nearby sections. Together with Aspes, Riccardo Pozzi’s Fare department is working on a replacement that will start at the end of the month in empty turnstiles with other trees and species more suitable for an urban context, without the risk of the roots creating those dangerous depressions . Local and extra-urban roads: the intervention also includes the renovation of the Guardian Angel road, in the Baratoff area, between Pantano and Novilara, which has been awaited and requested several times by residents. Sections of via Lago Maggiore in Villa Ceccolini and in Cattabrighe Strada Fornace Mancini, the sections damaged and affected by the flood in May a year ago.

Urban and extra-urban

Finally, for extra-urban roads we have via Albertini, a parallel road in the Levante sea area between via Rosselli and via Amendola, via Montenevoso in Tombaccia and via Corridoni, another crossroads between via Cavallotti and via Raggi. Uncovered areas: from this spring session, however, as many interventions requested by neighborhood presidents and citizens, including via social media, remain outside. Among the road sections left out for now, there are Lungofoglia delle Nazioni and via Caboto in Soria. And again via Agostini and a stretch of via Gattoni, which however will only be reached once the works on the Alighieri road have been completed. The sections of the sidewalks in the final part of the port side avenue between Viale Trento and the Statale also remain outside, as well as other points in the Pantano district, such as Via Mancini, Via Rossi and surrounding areas.
