As of 8pm on Sunday 21 April, there are 29 symbols deposited by the parties that intend to stand in the European elections on 8 and 9 June. Parties and electoral lists can register their name and symbol with the Ministry of the Interior at the Central Directorate for Electoral Services on Sunday 21 April until 8pm and Monday 22 April from 8am to 4pm. For candidate lists the deadline is May 1st .

Among the registered marks, that of Brothers of Italy (with the name “Meloni” in plain sight and the confirmation of the tricolor flame), that of the M5S (with related controversies of exploitation due to the presence of the word “peace”). Those from Fi and the Democratic Party are still missing (the latter is grappling with the controversy over the inclusion of Schlein’s name in the symbol).

The secretary of the Democratic Party Elly Schlein has dissolved her reservation: she will run in the European elections as head of the list in the Center and Islands constituencies. At the Nazarene, during a party meeting, a division emerged over the proposal of the party president Stefano Bonaccini to insert the name of the secretary in the symbol for the European elections. A hypothesis that has created divisions both in the majority of the Democratic Party and in the minority itself led by Bonaccini. The deadline for registering symbols is approaching.
