From today, Gesco, County Services Management, is officially operational. The company was born from the transformation of Water and Purification, and will deal with municipal cleaning services, small maintenance, custodial and signage services.
“Excellent news – explains the Mayor, Maria Monisteri – which we share with the 45 workers who will be part of it, coming from investee companies of our institution, and with their families who see their present and future assured.
A result that we achieved in a short time, thanks to the fundamental contribution of the entire municipal council, whom we want to thank for having understood the needs of the workers, for having shared the path chosen to respond to them and for having given their full availability to achieve the objective is to create this new company, voting resolution 14 unanimously.
The commitment and action of the Administration and City Council demonstrates how the institutions of the City of Modica and their representatives care about Modicans, managing to make even complicated paths easy and possible in a short time. Safeguarding the jobs of the 45 workers – concludes Monisteri – was the common objective that made the birth of GeSCo possible.
In this sense, the productive dialogue with the trade union forces has contributed significantly. CGIL, CISL and ConfSal signed the protocol and with them we agreed on a meeting point to secure the 45 workers, sharing the purpose of the birth of the company whose sole director is Dr. Angelo Giallongo”.
