How many faces did he hide behind? Matteo Messina Money? The Castelvetrano boss, who died last September eight months after his arrest, was also active on social networks, under a false name. The massacre, who during his time in hiding was able to count on a very large network of frontmen and accomplices including the doctor who treated him, used Facebook under the name of “Francesco Averna“, Surgeon, graduated from Bocconi University in Milan and single. As a profile photo he had a little white dog with a blue handkerchief to the neck. Five friends in total and many pages followed including pubs, restaurants and clubs in Campobello di Mazara. It is not possible to view any published content. On Instagram, however, he called himself “f.averna”.

A closed, armored profile, just like the previous one, in which it is not possible to see any public information apart from the photo of the little white dog with the blue handkerchief and the writing “doctor” under the name “Francesco Averna 17”. The activity, on this front, seems to have been greater, in fact the boss he followed 443 profiles and was in turn followed by 71 people.

There are two false identities that emerged from the investigations and were used by Matteo Messina Denaro while on the run. Investigative news that the Palermo Prosecutor’s Office will use in the appeal of the sentence issued against Andrea Bonafede, sentenced to 6 years and 8 months for aggravated aiding and abetting. In the appeal against the verdict – the prosecutors had accused the accused of being a mafia association which was then reclassified by the investigating judge as aiding and abetting – the magistrates included a series of previously unpublished episodes. Like the two aliases used by the boss who told the tattoo artist his name was Vito Firreri and he had given the name of Averna to the worker who had to repair his dishwasher in his house in Campobello di Mazara.
