Bolzano, bus suspended from circulation due to serious irregularities

A bus from a South Tyrolean company, with 18 passengers on board and coming from Bassa Atesina, was intercepted by officers of the Bolzano Traffic Police Section at the Bolzano Sud A22 toll booth and was found to have an expired inspection.

Further investigations by the officers showed that the Polish license of the driver, a boy of foreign origins with a regular residence permit, was fake.

The vehicle was transferred under guard to the Motor Vehicle Authority after the Traffic Police officers let the passengers off at the nearby terminus.

The bus with a new license plate, but with more than a million kilometres, was suspended from circulation for three months due to anomalies in the warning lights, bodywork, seats and, above all, the braking system.

Once the driver has been reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the ascertained facts will also be reported to the competent Mobility Division Offices of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano for the appropriate measures.

The transport company is accused of a dozen violations of the Highway Code due to inefficient devices and careless reliance on the vehicle.
