On Monday 22nd from 10am to 2pm the Teatro Civico of Tortona becomes the «Stage of masterpieces» where the masterpieces are the great products of «Made in Italy» those made of the same substance as the masterpieces, and the masterpieces are the great works of art that have marked the history of our country from those of Leonardo, Verdi or Michelangelo to those of Valentino, Armani, Ferrari or Maserati.
At the «Teatro dei Masterpieces» «Gusto», the magazine that produces food, wine and travel content for the Gedi group publications, will tell how the stories that will become protagonists on stage from time to time are animated by the same “genius loci” as masterpieces because they too are masterpieces. Tortona is the perfect city for this event because it is in the heart of the province of Alessandria which is confirming itself as a small tourist miracle of pride and determination, but above all of the desire and ability to tell its story. And in this territory a special role is deserved by Tortona itself, which with its products, led by Timorasso (Walter Massa did his part) and Derthona but also by Volpedo peaches, is gaining fame and prestige on the atlas of flavors of Italy.

In this choice Vittoria Poggio played an important role both as a fan of the area and as regional tourism councilor: «Alessandria is rediscovering its enormous tourist, cultural and food and wine potential. There have been many tourists from many countries who have chosen Alessandria and its province as their destination since 2022, discovering unexplored but highly valuable places.” «Gusto» went on to discover the roots of the great Alexandrian products and its producers and the choice of Tortona as a destination, the city of great products, of Anna Ghisolfi’s cuisine but also of many restaurants which, like Montecarlo for example, tells their city on the menu.
On the «Stage of masterpieces» many protagonists of Italian taste will rise. For example, the television couple Cristiano Tomei-Gennaro Esposito will be reunited and will be able to surprise not only at the table. And then two great women of Italian cuisine Antonia Klugmann and Cristina Bowerman and also the true king of Italian pizza chefs, that extraordinary character who is Franco Pepe. Not to forget Anthony Genovese, two stars at the «Pagliaccio» in Rome, a part of the Cerea family who will bring their experience to three stars. And among the dialogues that will come to life on the stage of the Civic Theater from 10am to 2pm (entry is free, registration is mandatory) there will be one that will focus on the future of food and the territory, involving the President of the Region Piedmont Alberto Cirio and the director of the Press, Andrea Malaguti.
The 15 hot air balloons of «Gusto» (made by Ceramica Besio of Mondovì) will be awarded to women and men who have marked the last 12 months of Italian and international gastronomy, but there will also be surprise prizes and recognition for the North West territory and its protagonists. In short, it will be a celebration of «Taste» but also of the territory.
