Hydrogeological risks in Piedmont, Gandino students meet Professor Luino

BRA – On the morning of April 17, 2024, the meeting with prof. was held in the Aula Magna in via F.lli Calandro. Luino Fabio of the order of geologists of Piedmont of the University of Turin on the topic “Hydrogeological risks in Piedmont”.

The meeting, reserved for the fifth classes of the institute and for orientation purposes, made us reflect on how fragile our territory is and has always been subject to calamitous events, which unfortunately have intensified in the last 30 years also due to climate change in act. The professor. Luino, a former high school student and professor at the University of Turin, described to us the dynamics and causes of landslides, the meaning and severity of a debris flow, to conclude with the flood phenomena, sadly known in our areas. The examples reported, often referring precisely to our region, rich in images, map reproductions and videos, have made us understand the importance of prevention and protection, especially with regards to the urban planning of municipalities.
We thank prof. Luino for the surgery and we’ll meet up next year.

The VD class created a Google form to allow us to evaluate our perception of hydrogeological risks, follow the link and after taking the test read the comment on the result obtained
