Her great love for animals could have cost her her life. An 83-year-old woman was brutally attacked in her apartment by five dogs large animals living with her. The dramatic episode occurred in Mortise, in the province of Padua. The neighbors heard the old woman’s heartbreaking screams and called the police. When the military arrived on site, inside the apartment on the first floor of the building, they immediately realized what had happened. They first chased the animals away, some of them pitbull and other American Staffordshire Terrier dogs, and then they rescued the woman, who was unconscious on the ground in a pool of blood.
The rush to the hospital
The 118 ambulance transported the 83-year-old to Padua hospital, where his condition immediately appeared serious. Subjected to a delicate surgery, the elderly woman lost her entire right upper limb and left forearm. The injuries were very serious and the doctors could not do otherwise. It was not possible to save the arms of the woman who is now hospitalized reserved prognosisin intensive care, but his life does not appear to be in danger.
