The city of Civitavecchia has the honor of hosting, for the first time in its history, the Italian Army Band. In fact, at 8.30 pm on 13 May 2024, the great institution, directed by maestro Maggiore Filippo Cangiamila, will hold an extraordinary concert at the Traiano, on the occasion of the 180th anniversary of the Teatro Comunale. The evening will be presented by Cristina Roncalli, with the voices of Elena D’Amico, Tania Agliarulo and Sara Russo.
The Italian Army Band, which this year opened the final evening of the 74th Sanremo Festival, is the institutional musical complex of the armed force and has had an intense concert activity all over the world, for sixty years now, over obviously to attend traditional commitments such as oaths, military ceremonies or guards of honor at the Quirinale. His repertoire ranges from the celebratory one with marches and hymns, to the lyrical symphonic one, with a particular predilection for original band music, both historical and current.
Entrance is free; Tickets can be collected at the Teatro Traiano box office starting from May 9th, from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 19:00.
