In Puglia storm on the centre-left, investigations touch Emiliano – Current affairs

(ANSA) – BARI, APRIL 20 – The investigations that are overwhelming the center-left in Puglia are one step away from involving the governor Michele Emiliano according to some reconstructions of the center-right newspapers which – as Libero is doing today – go so far as to ask for his resignation. Based on what Il Giornale and La Verità also reconstruct, the president of the Puglia Region could be investigated for revealing official secrecy because – after learning of the imminent arrest of the commissioner of the regional agency for innovation (Arti) and former regional councilor for urban planning, Alfonso Pisicchio – last April 10th he allegedly warned him by telling him “resign or I will remove you”. It would have been Pisicchio himself who revealed it to the preliminary hearing judge by showing the screenshots of the chat with which the governor would have alerted him to an old investigation that was accelerating. Pisicchio, in fact, resigned last April 10th a few hours before the news arrived of his arrest for corruption together with his brother Enzo. And his sudden resignation from Arti would have pushed the investigators to suspect a leak of information and therefore to bring forward the arrest which initially would have been scheduled for a few days later. Pisicchio would have added to the magistrates that it would have been a “Roman source” who revealed confidential information to Emiliano about his arrest. And among the questions raised on the matter by many parts of the political world there is precisely this point: who could have given the governor information covered by secrecy? (HANDLE).
