Citizens will listen to him in our squares.” It is the proposal that the mayor of Bergamo Giorgio Gori launched on their social profiles.

The reference is to the news, spread in these hours, of the elimination of the monologue on April 25th that the writer Antonio Scurati should have proposed in the episode of What will bethis evening (20 April), on Rai3.

On April 24th at the Monumentale

In Bergamo, the proposal could be included in one of the moments of celebration planned in the city between 24 and 25 April. In particular, already on Wednesday 24th, at 4.15pm at the Monumental cemetery, the procession will begin which will arrive at the Campo dei fallen for Freedom with the celebration of mass and the laying of laurel wreaths, one also on the tomb of the Bergamo Partisans.

Then, at 6pm, in Piazza Don Sergio Colombo, the naming ceremony of the green area of ​​”Redona Centro” will take place. Velia Sacchi And Mimma Quarti.

The program of the 25th

Thursday 25 April, the day will open at 9am in the Parco delle Rimembranze (at the Rocca di Città Alta) with the ceremony of commemoration and deposition of the laurel wreaths on the gravestones commemorating those who died for Freedom, the Fallen in the Concentration Camps and the monument to the Fallen of the Legnano Division and the Italian Liberation Army 1943-1945.

At 9.30 the participants in the procession will gather in Piazzale Marconi and then leave at 10, according to the following route: viale Papa Giovanni XXIII, via G. Camozzi, via Pignolo, via T. Tasso arriving in Piazza Vittorio Veneto. During the route, in via Pignolo 8, homage will be paid to the plaque in memory of Ferruccio dell’Orto.

At 11am, between the Tower of the Fallen and the Monument to the Manzù Partisan, there will be a tribute from the authorities, military and civil representatives and the laying of laurel wreaths with also a moment dedicated to the plaque in memory of the Partisan Women of Tower of the Fallen.

The mayor’s speeches are scheduled for 11.30 am in Piazza Vittorio Veneto Giorgio Gori and the president of the Province Pasquale Gandolfi. This year’s great guest will then be the Honourable Pier Luigi Bersani.

This will be followed by a speech by a student from the Secco Suardo high school for the Witnesses of Resistance and of Susanna Facheris for Progetto Adriana.
