How does the preparation of a guy like that work?

“Meanwhile it took a day of testing and we with our team always try to do at least one day of testing on all the tracks where we race. This is the best thing. Imola is very, very difficult, especially because you have to jump over the curbs a lot. The curb riding let’s say it’s an art, that is, you you have to do it right, you have to go to the right place at the right time with the right wheel. You can lose or gain a lot and it’s something that’s different from always driving on asphalt. Then okay, a bit of simulator at home.”

Compared to two years ago the curbs are different, how did you find them?

Yes, they are shorter. Also a little easier to get through. I had already tried them a few months ago when I tested here with the M4 GT3.

“The GT driver lives on curbs, driving over them is an art”

Much better for a GT?

The GT driver lives on curbs. For me the biggest difference compared to riding a motorbike is precisely that, because the tracks become others. For example, Misano is a different track compared to MotoGP, same thing for Mugello.

You’re always cutting outside, inside, like this; so, it has all other trajectories and that’s a little bit difficult thing to learn. Here there is the Variante Alta which is a place where the pros, those who know it well, they know how to use the machine and can always make a little difference.

When the works in Monza are finished, do you think Imola will still be able to remain on the calendar?

In my opinion, yesthere are two tracks very very different. However, Imola remains a very particular, interesting, difficult and very technical track. It’s true that it’s narrow, but we will have to wait for Sunday’s race to see, but in my opinion yes.
