The thirty-first edition of the “Sports Festival – The Asti Sportsman of the Year” is scheduled for Friday 10 Mayat the traditional location of the Conference Room of the Bank of Asti, starting at 5pm. The event, promoted and organized by Albatros Comunicazione, will be combined with the official presentation of the “StraAsti” – “Banca di Asti” Trophy”. The thirty-seventh edition of the StraAstirecognizable by the soft yellow t-shirts, is scheduled for the evening of Friday 31 May 2024, with departure and arrival in Piazza Alfieri.

Like every year, during the event the “Asti sportsman of the year”. This year, the prestigious award will go to Etinosa Olihaundefeated IBO and IBF Middleweight World Champion, raised at the Skull Boxing Asti School under the guidance of the “master” Davide Greguoldo.

Together with the twenty-six year old athlete from Asti, the first boxer on the Roll of Honor of the “Sportsman of the Year”, the youth sector of ASD Asti will be celebrated as “team of the year”, thanks to the brilliant results obtained in the 2023/2024 season by the teams coordinated by Carlo Pesce. The event will see the presence of an important “cross-section” of Asti sport, sponsors, professionals and the numerous authorities invited to the “vernissage” of the 37th “StraAsti”.

Etinosa Oliha he will succeed on the Roll of Honor a long list of athletes who have made the history of Asti sport, including Elisa Prato (1988), Elio Dezzani (1989), Guido Tassone (1991), Ivo Anselmo (1992), Cristina Cirillo (1993), Andrea Arnaud (1994), Giampiero Crosetti (1998), Flavio Gulinelli (1999), Pierluigi Uberti (2000), Romeo Sacchetti (2001), Carlo Balduzzi (2002), Matteo Paro (2003), Massimo Oddone (2004 ), Alice Franco (2005), Matteo Torchio (2006), Carlotta Guerreschi (2007), Alice Franco (2008), Sergio Tabbia (2009), Francesca Massobrio (2010), Marco Scafidi (2011), Alice Franco (2012), Andrea Primitivi (2013), Matteo Piano (2014), Alice Sotero (2015), Federico Trento (2016), Matteo Piano (2017), Carola Rainero (2018), Matteo Scarpa (2019), Alice Sotero (2022) and Lorenzo Dello Iacovo (2023). The 2020 and 2021 awards were not awarded during the pandemic period.

Also this year, on the occasion of thirty-first “Sports Festival”, Albatros Comunicazione will deliver the solidarity quotas relating to the thirty-seventh “StraAsti” – 18th Member “Giorgio De Alexandris”.

The recipients will be GSH Pegaso, Croce Verde Asti, Croce Rossa, ANA Ass. Naz.le Alpini, Civil Protection “Città di Asti”, Ass. Astigiana Zoofila/Municipal Kennel and One More Life for the “Astipedalando tra i borghi” which, originally scheduled for Wednesday 1st May, it was postponed (due to adverse weather) to Sunday 19th May.
