POZZUOLI| The “Morantini” of the De Amicis-Diaz school in Sanremo with “Malala”

The “Morantini” choir of the comprehensive institute De Amicis – Diaz Of Monterusciello to Pozzuoli has fulfilled a dream: to bring on stage Sanremo the unreleased song “Malala”, lyrics by Ilenia Navarra and arrangement of Riccardo Lasero on rights to education.

This is, in fact, the main objective of the school Pozzuoli, guarantee education for everyone, starting with children. With the patronage of Municipality of Pozzuoli the Comprehensive Institute De Amicis participated in the three-day GEF International School Music Festival, from 18 to 20 April 2024.

The little “Morantini” performed at Ariston Theater in Sanremor with the song dedicated to Malala Yousafzaithe youngest winner of the Nobel prize for peace, known for her commitment to the affirmation of civil rights and the right to education of the women of Mingora, in Pakistan.

In October 2012 Malala she was hit in the head by armed Taliban who boarded the school bus on which she was returning home from school, accused of being a “symbol of infidels and obscenity”. The young girl was saved after a long surgical operation in Birmingham, Great Britain. Her voice has become stronger and her story known throughout the world.

These are the proud words of the mayor of Pozzuoli Gigi Manzoni: “Congratulations to the De Amicis Diaz Comprehensive Institute of Pozzuoli, which, with the patronage of the Municipality of Pozzuoli, managed to realize the dream of many children, parents and teachers, bringing an unreleased song “Malala” to Sanremo, on the Ariston stage by Ilenia Navarra and Riccardo Lasero talks about the rights to education, the main objective of the school”.
