The drug in the dirty handkerchief

On 18 and 19 April, extraordinary territorial control services were carried out by personnel of the UPGSP of the Ferrara Police Headquarters, together with patrols from the Emilia Romagna Crime Prevention Department of Bologna, aimed at combating crimes in general in the area of Aguscello, Pontegradella, Borgo Punta via Frutteti, via Siepe and surrounding areas and in the Gad area.

In particular, during the services carried out in the area in front of the railway station and Viale IV Novembre, two foreign citizens were found and subjected to checks by the officers.

The first did not have identity documents and was therefore accompanied to the police station. Here, having discovered the fact that the man was not in compliance with the legislation on residence, we proceeded with the expulsion decree. The man was then accompanied to the Repatriation Center in Palazzo San Gervasio (PZ) for his return to his country of origin.

The second person was checked in viale IV Novembre. Carefully hidden inside a dirty tissue used for blowing one’s nose, there were approximately 5 grams of hashish. She also had 480 euros in cash with her. For this reason the man was reported for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing.

The checks were therefore also extended to the gardens of Viale Cavour and surrounding areas.

During the services, a total of 70 people were identified, including 9 with police records, 18 vehicles were checked and 2 checkpoints were carried out.
