Green Day Energy, Energy Transition Day in Taranto

Organized by the Coordination of Renewable Sources and Energy Efficiency (FREE), the energy transition day, Green Energy Day, was created to promote the development of renewables and energy efficiency and the cutting of climate-altering emissions.

On the morning of Saturday 20 April at the Aragonese Castle of Taranto, representatives of the Free Coordination and all the organizing associations of the Green Energy Day held a press conference in order to promote the initiative in which the associations’ requests for be able to facilitate and accelerate the energy transition. The objective is that Green Energy Day becomes a fixed event every year to provide information and training on the energy transition and to allow citizens to see first-hand that renewable sources and energy efficiency are today a concrete alternative to fossil fuels. .
In this regard, over 50 renewable energy plants and energy efficient sites will be open to visitors throughout Italy; A series of visits are also planned in Taranto, including one to a photovoltaic module treatment and recycling plant and a catamaran trip to the first, and still only, offshore wind farm built in the Mediterranean, located off the port of Taranto.
