Basilicata, community pharmacy services are launched. The OK comes with the ASP resolution
«We had asked that pharmacies be given a greater role in the healthcare sector and with this resolution from the ASP there is finally an adequate appropriation of skills which will benefit not only the citizen but the entire regional healthcare system by allowing the reduction of the lists of wait”. This is the satisfied comment of the Regional President of Federfarma Basilicata, Antonio Guerricchio on the resolution of the Local Health Authority of Potenza which kicks off the experimental phase of the Service Pharmacy.
The Lucanian president highlights how these represent real safeguards for public health with immediate and facilitated access, responding quickly to the health needs of citizens. As for numbers, at present there are 110 people in the region who have signed up to the service pharmacy project, completing all the procedures necessary to adapt to the new rules.
«This involved a technological investment linked to the purchase or rental of equipment suitable for carrying out both cardiac and blood pressure holters, electrocardiograms and spirometries – continues President Guerricchio – Added to this was also a significant investment which consisted in finding new spaces to set up these areas which, according to legislation, must be separated from the rooms used for pharmaceutical administration. Regarding the timing – concludes the president -, in the Potenza area, the service pharmacies will come into operation from the first days of May, while in the Matera area we will have to wait a couple more weeks”.
