There are approximately 640 thousand overnight stays in accommodation facilities in Tuscany scheduled for the 25 April long weekend. This was revealed by monitoring by the Tourist Study Center (Cst) for Confesercenti Toscana, conducted on the main online booking platforms.

A substantial part of the tourists, explains a note, will head above all towards the main art cities of the region, but also towards the spa, rural and hill towns. A smaller flow of bookings was recorded for properties in coastal locations and mountain areas. In particular, the average saturation rate found for cities/art centers stands at 93%. For seaside locations the average occupancy of the structures is 71% and the structures in the mountain areas stop at 67%. For spa and hill towns the rates recorded are 84% and 88% respectively. In general, the distribution of tourist demand is expected in almost all areas of the region, even if for the coastal strip the saturation rates would stop below the average values. A better trend would appear, however, for the areas of Val d’Orcia, Val di Chiana, Chianti and Val d’Elsa. A good level of bookings was also recorded for Mugello and Valdarno. “The spring long weekends confirm that Tuscany is highly attractive, in this case especially for the movements of Italian tourists, but the weather – underlines Nico Gronchi, president of Confesercenti Toscana – significantly slows down bookings on the coast. However, the average figure pushes our Region among the favorite Italian destinations, because the many ‘tourisms’ that make it up manage to make it attractive despite the cold tail end of winter that is arriving”.
