Manfredonia, the comedy “Stove na Volts” was acclaimed by spectators

Another great success for the theater company “Teatro Stabile Città di Manfredonia” with the performance of the comedy “Stove na Volte”, taken from the comedy “I Sciaddei” by Michele Racioppa, adapted and reworked by Dina Valente.

Four events have been staged in recent days at the San Michele cinema theater in Manfredonia, which have always sold out audiences with great critical acclaim and thunderous applause.

A comedy set temporally in the first decades of the last century, hilarious but at the same time with the main aim of telling and representing the social customs of two families from Siponto, in this fishermen’s houses with different economic conditions, within which, a sentimental reaction between a very young poor boy and a more economically well-off girl, initially opposed by her mother and then accepted following the change in the economic conditions of the boy, winner of a lottery, suggested, overnight, by the famous “Scazzamurille” .

The comedy, in three acts, in addition to representing everyday life with various scenes characterized by elegant hilarity, was an opportunity to recall the Siponto vernacular of the past, which has partly become obsolete but above all to preserve and pass on to future generations the dialect it represents the historical memory and the slightly colorful expression, typical of the popular tradition that the theater company aims to promote.

A theatrical cast made up of very good actors with the inclusion of three very young talents, such as Gaetano De Benedictis, Andrea Spano and Emanuele Guida, as highlighted by the “divine and immortal” director Dina Valente for me, who has been “immemorial” with her own company, which brings prestige to the city, having performed dozens and dozens of comedies locally but also around Italy, always achieving great success.

Theater is art and culture and it is what Dina Valente, with tireless profusion and commitment, has always wanted to spread and the applause on the last evening yesterday is testimony to the great tribute of gratitude that the city intended to pay to the great artist, actress and director of our city.
