GUBBIO – Today Gubbio returns to host an international sporting event, the Spartan Race 2024the most difficult and fascinating obstacle race in the world.

The Spartan takes place in Gubbio today Saturday 20 And Sunday April 21, 2024starting from Piazza San Giovanni towards San Martino, and with a classic arrival at Park of the Roman Theaterwhere the paddock with the presence this year of some Eugubine refreshment activities.

The organization of the Spartan Race has once again chosen Gubbio in Italy as the location for the architectural beauty of the city and the Roman Theater Park where the races experience a very intense moment linked to overcoming the most difficult obstacles.

I am 5 thousand The registered athletes for the two days of Eugubine competitions, 10 thousand The total arrivals which are expected in the city between Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with athletes from all over Europe and the world.

The route, compared to that of 2023, has been slightly modified: we start from Piazza San Giovanni and we arrive at Park of the Roman Theaterbut above all there is a breathtaking passage at the top of the Fortress of Sant’Ubaldoright under the Comet Star of the largest Christmas Tree in the world, and then descends towards the Coppo Park and then into the city.

The race “beast” will reach the quarry of San Marco and Madonna del Sasso with 891 meters of altitude, the “super” will climb towards the Rocca di Sant’Ubaldo with 891 meters of altitude difference, the “sprint” will have a predominantly city route with 627 meters of altitude difference.

L’Festival area at the Roman Theater Park has been greatly improved, also with many difficult obstacles to make the races more spectacular. Gubbio will be represented by three top athletes: they are Manuel Moriconi (who in 2023 triumphed in the “beast“), Davide Minelli (in 2023 2nd in the Age Group) And Antonio Rossi.
