The gardens of via Negri
The attempted mugging of an old woman by a young boy, the screams of the frightened woman, a city councilor who sees the scene and does not hesitate to chase the young man, the workers of a nearby construction site who indicate the direction of escape and, again, the tackle of the fugitive by a group of young foreigners who, together with the police, contribute to his capture.
These are the elements that make up the daring episode that occurred yesterday morning between via Ancillotti, via Negri and via Rossi, a section of roads close to the Viale Dante roundabout.
THE COUNCILOR CHASES THE STUFFER
An eyewitness to the incident was Nicola Domeneghetti, municipal councilor of Fratelli d’Italia, who, cycling along Via Ancilotti, witnesses a boy attempting to steal an old woman’s purse.
The woman’s screams attracted the attention of the workers at the nearby construction site. who began to wave their arms to indicate the direction of escape of the young attacker to passers-by.
foreigners block the thief
Domeneghetti sets off in pursuit by pedaling and when he thinks he has lost him, once he reaches Via Rossi, he turns his gaze to the left and, albeit from afar, witnesses what, at first, might have seemed like a fight between young foreigners and, a few seconds later, upon the arrival of two police cars with sirens blaring.
But the reality was very different: shortly before, having heard the screams of the old woman, a group of young foreigners stationed near the gardens of Via Negri had mobilized to identify the perpetrator of the attempted robbery. After traveling along via Porri, the boys intercepted the fugitive in via Negri, more or less at number 25.
And there, in an attempt to stop him, they almost tackled him. A brawl arose, which was definitively resolved with the arrival of the agents and the capture of the thief, a minor from Piacenza.
His position is being examined by investigators, but he risks being reported to juvenile court.
