“In your shoes” arrives in Cinisello Balsamo. This is the campaign, promoted locally by Igor Palla, president of the Performance 360° Association who, with the help of the local Civil Protection, organized a shoe collection by joining the project which encourages less fortunate young athletes to believe in their dreams.
It was 2017 when, at the end of the Rome marathon, Francisco Grimaldi with the help of Giordano Bravetti decided to collect the running shoes of his teammates to take them to Kenya, the land of marathon runners. On each pair of shoes they wrote the name of the donor and left for Africa.
In Kenya a pair of shoes represented the change in the lives of thousands of people, families, villages and entire communities. This is how the “At the End of the World” project was born to support sports communities in developing countries around the world.
Every year Francisco and his team travel to one of these countries and are already ready for the next expeditions. Starting with just 44 pairs of running shoes, today they are an international reality that helps and encourages those who have decided to get involved to become a champion.
To participate you need to carefully wash the running shoes you want to donate, apply a label with your name on it so you can receive a photo of the marathon runner who will wear them. It is essential to follow the directions because otherwise the shoes will be discarded.
It will be possible to take them to the temporary collection point at the Civil Protection Onlus headquarters in via De Amicis, 42 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm to 8pm or arrange collection by writing to

, the collection ends on May 30th, for each pair of shoes a free donation is welcome to cover transport costs. The initiative will be promoted during the Running Festival event.
