Cagliari-Juventus, a match valid for the 33rd matchday of Serie A, ended with a score of 2-2 thanks to goals from Gaetano, Mina, Vlahovic and Dossena’s own goal. With this result, Juventus rises to 64 points in the standings and remains third, while Cagliari remains +5 above the relegation zone. Below are the votes for the protagonists of the match.

Cagliari’s report cards

Simone SCUFFET 5.5 – He underestimated Vlahovic’s ballistic skills by placing a thin barrier and paid the consequences

Pantelis HATZIDIAKOS 6 – Chiesa didn’t put him in too much trouble during the evening, except on the occasion of the disallowed goal. He ends up behaving well (from 87′ Mateusz WIETESKAsv)

Alberto DOSSENA 5 – He played a game of great defensive substance until the 86th minute when he first lost the ball mid-field and then sent Yildiz’s cross into the net for a clumsy own goal.

Yerry MINA 6.5 – Personality to spare. He sacrifices himself on Vlahovic’s left foot, stretching out and blocking the Serbian’s shot. He snatches the ball from Gaetano’s hands to kick the second penalty of the first half and displaces Szczesny.

Tommaso AUGELLO 6 – He rages on the right, also favored by Weah who never gets in his way.

Antoine MAKOUMBOU 5.5 – He has the demerit of unexpectedly ducking into the barrier on Vlahovic’s free kick. Also thanks to this, the ball kicked by the Serbian passes over the barrier and ends up in the net.

Ibrahim SULEMANA 6 – He plays a first half of great substance, running everywhere and adding his physical strength when needed (46′ Matteo PRATI 6 – He enters with the right attitude, immediately engaging Szczesny with a shot from outside the area)

Nathian NANDEZ 7 – Captain and soul of Cagliari. He takes charge of Chiesa right from the start and doesn’t let the Juventus winger breathe. He gives his all until he is replaced, earning a standing ovation from his audience (from 79′ Gabriele ZAPPA sv)

Gianluca GAETANO 6.5 – He came close to scoring with a header in the first half following an inviting cross from Luvumbo. Ice-cold from the spot, he converts the penalty which makes it 1-0 (from 69′ Alessandro DEIOLA 6 – Ranieri sends him onto the pitch to give substance and defend and he carries out the task)

Zito LUVUMBO 7 – First sharp after just 60 seconds with a shot that ends high. These are the harbingers of an electrifying first half. He escapes the defenders’ marks, causing panic. It drops as the game goes on

Eldor SHOMURODOV 6.5 – He does a lot, especially for his teammates. He doesn’t have a direct impact but allows the players around him to make incursions and on the occasion of the second penalty he puts Bremer in crisis. An element that has become very precious for Ranieri (from 79′ Nicolas VIOLA 6 – Excellent entry, his crosses from the right always alarm the Juventus defense)

Coach Claudio RANIERI 7 – So much regret for three points sought, cherished and finally lost due to an own goal. It seems incredible, but Cagliari ends up having to settle for a point against Juventus after the one they gained at San Siro. A first half played at full throttle and a second half spent in the trenches repelling attacks. This Cagliari, due to their approach and quality of play, deserves salvation.

Juventus report cards

Wojciech SZCZESNY 5.5 – Miraculous with his foot on Luvumbo, the Angolan lands, earning the second penalty of the evening. He is wrong-footed twice by the spot.

Federico GATTI 5.5 – He is unable to stem Luvumbo’s verve in the first half, and runs into difficulty with every acceleration of the Cagliari players. It gets better at the end.

DANILO 6 – He increases in pace as the match progresses until he becomes a factor in the area towards the end. Viola’s header from a cross was decisive, taking the ball away from Wieteska who was ready to strike

Gleison BREMER 4.5 – Bad evening for the Brazilian central defender who appears disoriented. His hand on the first penalty, caught off guard during the action that leads to the second spot kick

Andrea CAMBIASO 5.5 – Many times during the season he was a factor for Juve with his insertions and through balls. This time, however, he struggles and in fact the Juventus maneuver is awkward (from 86′ Samuel ILING-JUNIOR sv)

Adrien RABIOT 5.5 – First half at a slow pace, spent watching the ball pass in his area. He goes up in the second half, also benefiting from Cagliari’s inevitable decline.

Manuel LOCATELLI 5 – The Juventus midfield suffers in Cagliari also because he is rarely present in the heart of the game (from 74′ Arkadiusz MILIK sv)

Timothy WEAH 5 – Another rather anonymous test for the American who fails to turn on and Augello suffers. Yet another untapped chance as a starter (from 67′ Weston MCKENNIE 5.5 – Little determination and little danger, he does little better than his compatriot)

Carlos ALCARAZ 5- He starts off well, then finds himself increasingly closed off by Cagliari players who close him down, taking away solutions. Allegri is forced to remove him at half-time to add weight in attack (46′ Kenan YILDIZ 6.5 – He comes in and adds danger on the left, making up for Chiesa’s less-than-stellar evening. Brushes the cross on which Dossena dribbles the ball into the net in an attempt to ward off the threat)

Federico CHURCH 5.5 – His game is a compilation of predictable readings and imprecise plays illuminated by two flashes. He struggles to get into the game, also because he often has Nandez marking him closely. It’s a shame, because the only two ideas of the match resulted in a goal disallowed and a free kick converted into a goal by Vlahovic

Dusan VLAHOVIC 6.5 – The first clear opportunity comes in the 20th minute but Chiesa’s left-footed shot is too weak, he scores from a free-kick in the second half, surprising Scuffet and demonstrating that, when confident, he can do what he wants with that left-footed shot.

Coach Massimiliano ALLEGRI 5 – The problematic Juventus season finale continues. Down 2-0, Juve shortened from a free kick before finding the equalizer thanks to an own goal. Despite finishing with all the attackers available on the pitch, the Juventus team is never truly dangerous. Another game spent speculating with a torn stitch.
