MONTESILVANO. A fire that breaks out for reasons yet to be clarified and a bicycle shop/workshop that is reduced to smoke.
This is what happened yesterday morning in the Santa Filomena district of Montesilvano where, around 12.30, the flames broke out inside a commercial business that sells and repairs bicycles, at number 73 of via Verrotti, not far from the border with Pescara and the overpass.
Once the alarm was raised, a team of firefighters from the Pescara command immediately arrived on site and intervened to put out the flames, preventing the fire from spreading further. Despite the work of the firefighters, who managed to put out the fire, the flames had already enveloped and damaged materials and equipment in the workshop, also sending the door and the external covering tent of the business up in smoke. Just as some structural elements of the shed that houses the bicycle repair business were also damaged. The Pescara fire brigade staff, having put out the fire, also took steps to make the premises in via Verrotti safe.
Staff from the Montesilvano carabinieri station also intervened on site to carry out the necessary checks. For the moment it is not possible to understand whether the fire was of malicious origin since the reasons that led to the outbreak of the fire are still being ascertained. (to the)
