Carpi, viale Carducci: the cycle path is renewed and becomes “greener” – SulPanaro

CARPI – Instead of asphalt, a draining pavement and a green area that goes from 4 to 46 percent. These are the most relevant aspects of the renovation of the 800 meters of the Viale Carducci cycle path.

After pruning works were carried out on the existing plants on the west side in recent weeks, work began on Wednesday 17 April – which will proceed in functional sections of approximately one hundred meters at a time – relating to the road works for the resurfacing of the cycle path .

The intervention has a total cost of 550 thousand euros, entirely financed by the Emilia-Romagna Region, and falls within those of urban regeneration: in particular, it serves to “unseal” the soil, i.e. bring to light a permeable ground previously covered by asphalt. A practice that helps prevent hydrogeological instability and improve the environment. The “unsealed” area will be made totally waterproof and redeveloped with the creation of large and equipped green areas which will significantly increase compared to the current ones; Furthermore, the connection areas with road intersections and pedestrian crossings will be arranged.

For the duration of the construction site, from time to time, along the avenue, a ban on parking will be established with removal on the West side stalls, a ban on transit and parking on the West side platform, in addition to a ban on transit on the cycle path itself.
