While the 2023_24 season ends with the return of Silvio Orlando (25, 26 and 28 April) and the reflection on May Day with Home Run (Compagnia Senza Piume in collaboration with Centro Diaghilev), the new season of the Theater is already at the starting line municipal Piccinni of Bari-Department of Cultures under the title Altri Mondi, conceived as always with the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese.

Season ticket holders will be able to take advantage of the pre-emption option from 13 May to 14 June, while new season tickets will start from 24 June.

There are ten subscription shows for four days from Thursday to Sunday, ten non-subscription shows, plus eight titles of your choice (4 theatrical – 4 dance), special events, two drama segments, NEW ROUTES for new drama shows and TERRAFERMA for the traditional, the homage to Vito Maurogiovanni on the centenary of the birth of one of the greatest Apulian writers and the return to the Piccinni of the Piccolo Teatro di Bari with Nietta Tempesta, the hundred years since the birth of Andrea Camilleri, the days of Saint Nicholas, the Danza Award at the Piccinni – Evening of Bari stars, the festival on diversity Bari diverse II (23 and 24 April), the various approaches and awareness-raising paths in the neighborhoods and at the theatre, projects conceived and proposed with the close collaboration of the main cultural institutions and of training in the territory: schools, universities, Academy of Fine Arts, prison and associations. This, in summary, is the point-by-point story of the cultural strategy underlying the new season.

The Bari program will open on 18 October with a tribute to Vito Maurogiovanni (who passed away in 2009) and the following day with a return to the Piccinni of the Piccolo Teatro in Bari with Nietta Tempesta in The Importance of Being Ernest, by Oscar Wilde.

The ten subscription titles: Alessandro Haber with The Conscience of Zeno by Italo Svevo from 24 to 27 October, Paolo Rossi with Tonight we recite a subject – The Pirandello method from 14 to 17 November, Fausto Cabra with Molière’s Misanthrope from 28 November to 1 December REGIONAL EXCLUSIVE, Emilio Solfrizzi and Carlotta Natoli in L’anatra all’arancio from 12 to 15 December, Massimiliano Gallo with Amanti directed by Ivan Cotroneo from 9 to 12 January, Filippo Timi in Hamlet from 16 to 19 January , Natalino Balasso and Michele di Mauro in The Great Magic by Eduardo De Filippo from 23 to 26 January. The ten in non-subscription: the show of the Piccolo Teatro-E.D’Attoma (19 October) The importance of being Ernesto with Nietta Tempesta, directed by Maurizio Sarubbi and six actors/actresses on stage: Maurizio De Vivo, Daniel Torre , Susi Rutigliano, Caterina Rubini, Silvia Cuccovillo and Maurizio Sarubbi. The second edition (2 November 2024) of the Premio Danza at the Piccinni with the artistic curatorship of AltraDanza/Domenico Iannone, in collaboration with ResExtensa | Porta d’Oriente – National Center for Dance Production, and the EVENING OF BARESI STARS OF DANCE organized by the AltraDanza Company – artistic direction Domenico Iannone, with male and female dancers choreographed by the choreographers currently active in Bari: Elisa Barucchieri ( artistic director of ResExtensa |. Porta d’Oriente – National Center for Dance Production), Carmen De Sandi (artistic director of the Sinespazio Collective), Simona De Tullio (artistic director of the Breathing Art Company and of the San Nicola International Dance Prize), Roberta Ferrara (artistic director of the Equilibrio Dinamico company and of the Equilibrio Dinamico Ensemble project), Domenico Iannone (Artistic director of AltraDanza and also artistic director of the evening of stars), Ezio Schiavulli (artistic director of the EZ3 company, of the Dance Promotion Agency Ass. The world premiere on 7 November 2024 of Vertigine, choreography by Elisa Barucchieri, L’Avaro dell’Anonima Gr – 9 and 10 November 2024 – (Dante Marmone and Tiziana Schiavarelli), Ute Lemper with a journey through 45 years of successes, with Vana Gierig at the piano (21 November 2024 REGIONAL EXCLUSIVE). The eleventh edition of the San Nicola International Dance Gala (11 December 2024) created by the Breathing Art Company with the artistic direction of Simona De Tullio, on 1 and 2 February Roberto Saviano and Mimmo Borrelli with Sanghenapule-extraordinary life of San Gennaro IN A REGIONAL EXCLUSIVE, One, Nobody and One Hundred Thousand by Pirandello (in February the 12th in the evening and matinee and the 13th only in the matinee) with Primo Reggiani and Francesca Valtorta, Jane Alexander, Fabrizio Bordignon, Enrico Ottaviano, and the last show scheduled on the 26th April: Neri Marcorè with La Buona Novella by Fabrizio De Andrè.

KEEPING STRONG, a city workshop on relationships and feelings in schools curated by Francesco D’Amore and Ezio Schiavulli where boys and girls will explore, through writing, dance, theatre, the theme of relationships with others through emotions, corporeality, affectivity.

THEATER SCHOOL, for upper secondary schools by Marinella Anaclerio, Damiano Nirchio, Marco Grossi.

INSIDE THE SCENE, theater lessons at the Piccinni organized by Cooperativa i bambini di Truffaut/Giancarlo Visitilli.

TAKE ME WITH YOU, curated by Spine Bookstore, with meetings for children of spectators.

URBAN THEATER WORKSHOPS “You become spectators”, in the old city, in the Libertà, San Pio and San Paolo neighborhoods and to the inmates of the Bari prison. The course includes 5 training meetings and the viewing of 2 shows from Season 24_25: The workshops will be conducted by Daniela Baldassarre, Damiano Nirchio, Antonio Stornaiolo, Nicola Valenzano, Vito Signorile and created thanks to the collaboration with the Libertà Family Services Center, the Giovanni Paolo II Foundation onlus, the Accademia del Cinema Ragazzi, the Bari Prison, Sitara Teatro.

I’LL TAKE YOU TO THE THEATER In collaboration with the Department of Literature, Languages, Arts. Italian studies and comparative cultures, intended for students of DAMS – Audiovisual, music and entertainment disciplines and Master’s degree course in Entertainment Sciences

The project with ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS OF BARI FROM THE STAGE TO THE AUDIENCE. AN EXPERIENCE WITH CONTEMPORARY PROSE, with the technical directors we will delve into the aspects linked to the backstage of a large production, inside the Piccinni Theatre. Interactive lessons will be developed via zoom connection with the set designers and costume designers of the shows.

DANCE AT THE PICCINNI SPEECH In the theater before each show, all dance events will be introduced by a speech, i.e. insights and presentations with critics, journalists and operators from the world of dance.

COLLABORATION WITH THE HIGH SCHOOL OF MUSIC AND DANCE Chore Section of the “De Nittis – Pascali” HIGH SCHOOL of Bari In continuity with previous years, the collaboration with the Liceo Choreutico of Bari was reconfirmed (ticket price reductions for students and teachers + behind the scenes of the shows + practical and theoretical lessons with different guests for each event of the season.
