A road accident occurred in the evening, at sunset on Friday 19 April, in via del Cigliolo, in Velletri. A scooter and a car (Volvo) collided not far from the side entrance of the Veliterno cemetery, with worrying results for those who were riding the two-wheeler and who fell to the ground just after the impact, which occurred right at height of road narrowing.
Several passing motorists stopped to provide assistance, while the road was inevitably closed, to allow medics to take care of the injured and then allow the police to carry out their investigations, also on the basis of what was witnessed by the protagonists.
“It was inevitable that sooner or later there would be another accident at that point where the roadway narrows due to the shape of the cemetery wall, and anyone going uphill is forced to widen, invading the opposite lane going downhill”testified the former traffic policeman Alberto Mariani, who was responsible for the published photos.
