Basilicata 2024: center-right united for the closure of the electoral campaign

A united centre-right that presented itself in Potenza on the occasion of the final rally of the electoral campaign for the regional elections in Basilicata, scheduled for next Sunday and Monday, in support of the candidate for president of the coalition, Vito Bardi. “For me it’s a breath of fresh air to return to the streets, gather your enthusiasm and transform it into energy. We have been together for 30 years now not out of interest, but by choice”, the words pronounced by the Prime Minister and leader of the Brothers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, who added: “Don’t believe the fake news that says we are arguing and that they serve to stir up discord to stop the government’s action. Every morning we laugh at these reconstructions.” The Prime Minister then observed how “in this year and a half the government has produced much more, in terms of measures, than the governments of the left, put together with scotch tape, have done for entire legislatures”. After defending the differentiated autonomy project, the head of the executive addressed the tax chapter: “We have carried out the tax reform, it has been awaited for 50 years – he recalled -. The taxpayer must not be treated as a subject. I want a tax friend who doesn’t bother you with abstruse rules and unfair taxes. A tax friend asks you to pay the right amount, in a reasonable time, and spends your money well. The left got angry because I said that taxes are not a beautiful thing. They are not a beautiful thing, but they are something necessary to provide services.” And again, Meloni highlighted, “the house is a sacred asset and we intend to defend it. In this year and a half we have cleared out around 110 entire buildings and over a thousand council houses that had been illegally occupied: it is a job that we intend to continue”.

“I expect an extraordinary result from Basilicata because we worked well. We will continue to support Basilicata, I am convinced that Forza Italia will achieve a great result because we have made a competitive list. I am very optimistic,” the deputy prime minister, minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation, and national secretary of Forza Italia, said from the stage in Potenza. Antonio Tajani, who claimed the compactness of the coalition: “We are united – he explained -. We are different parties, each with its own identity, but with a single common denominator. Forza Italia is a moderate, liberal, Christian, reformist, guaranteeist force: we are serious, reliable people, we are allies of the other centre-right forces”. The other deputy prime minister, minister of Infrastructure and Transport, and secretary of the League, Matteo Salvini, reiterated: “Let Schlein, Conte and their supporters rest their hearts. This government will continue for five years, not a minute less. I am proud of what the center-right has done in these five years in Basilicata.” Also present were other center-right leaders such as Lorenzo Cesa, Gianfranco Rotondi and Maurizio Lupiwith the latter concluding: “Next Sunday and Monday we will win the elections and we will continue to govern Basilicata”.
