The Farm in the square conquers the little ones

CIVITA CASTELLANA – Educational workshops, food education, creation of small vegetable gardens and lots of fun for the over five hundred children of the schools and comprehensive institutes of Civita Castellana with the animals of the maxi “Farm in the square”. An event, the one organized in the Falerii Veteres amphitheater, by Coldiretti Viterbo in collaboration with the Municipality and the Pro Loco, which allowed children to take part in the activities and observe and play with donkeys, pigs, ponies, lambs, chickens, calves, goats, horses, sheep, snails, and bees. «It was a wonderful day of fun and training – explains the president of Coldiretti, Maria Beatrice Ranucci – for the students of the schools of Civita Castellana accompanied by their teachers. Thanks to the collaboration of the Municipality, Pro Loco and our farms, custodians of Made in Italy, we have created an event whose objectives are precisely to teach our children how important a healthy and genuine diet is. This event, in fact, is part of the “Friendly Countryside Education” project, which our Coldiretti Business Women also constantly carry out in local schools.” Great participation and enthusiasm for the workshops organized by the Pro Loco and the Civita Castellana office of Coldiretti Viterbo, including those carried out by Coldiretti Donne Impresa, with the provincial manager Cinzia Frezza and Chiara Maggiorelli, as part of the ” Education in the Friendly Countryside”, which allowed the little ones to mix and create vegetable gardens with aromatic plants, tomato puree and cheeses.

The children were also able to taste the local products such as oil, honey and creams present in the demonstration stands, to understand the importance of Made in Italy and to prefer genuine products. Numerous companies were involved in the event and contributed to making this day special, including Antonio Sciardiglia’s La Fescennina with their hazelnut cream, the oil and bruschetta from the Raganelli Nicola farm and the cheese from the Artfarm farm , which also brought ponies and horses and then the snails and organic cosmetics made by Andreina Pasquali’s Bio Helix Tuscia company and the sheep from the Cattani company and the goats from the Tevere Giorgio company. The jams and creams from Luca Ingegneri’s Cisterna del Marchionato could not be missing, as well as the pigs from Deborah Petrini’s The Natural Farm mini Pig company or the bees from Mario Bernardini from Magliano Sabina and the horses from the Artfarm farm in Monterosi. Also present were the agricultural vehicles of the Cavalieri Aldo, Fattori Angelo, Cavalieri Emanuele and Maggiorelli Michele companies and the cattle of the Cavalieri Duilio and Roberto farm. There was also a lot of curiosity about the drone and other machinery of the students of the Agricultural Institute.
