Polis project by Poste Italiane: here are the post offices in the province of Verona where it is possible to get a passport, and how to do it.
It extends to the province of Verona passport request and renewal service in the post offices of the Municipalities included in the Poste Italiane Polis project. The new service was presented at Affi and is already operational in the offices of Brenzone, Colà di Lazise, Erbezzo, Mezzane di Sotto, San Mauro di Saline and Selva di Progno. Poste Italiane’s Polis project is therefore moving forward with a view to its progressive extension to all 7,000 post offices active in centers with less than 15 thousand inhabitants.
The project involves a total investment of 1.2 billion euros, financed for 800 million with resources from the Plan complementary to the Pnrr, while the other 400 million are paid by Poste Italiane.
Thanks to the agreement signed between Poste Italiane, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, citizens resident or domiciled in Polis municipalities they will be able to open the passport application or renewal procedure by presenting the documentation directly at the post office, without having to go to the police station, with the possibility of receiving the passport at home.
How to get a passport at the post office.
It will be enough deliver a valid identity document, tax code and two photographs to the post office operator in your municipality (one of which was previously legalised), a tax stamp of 73.50 euros, with electronic cash on delivery and pay the tax slip of 42.50 euros. In case of renewal it will be necessary also hand over your old passport or a copy of the report of loss or theft of the old document. Thanks to Poste Italiane’s technological platform, the counter operator will collect the citizen’s information and biometric data (fingerprints and photos) then sending the documentation to the relevant police office. The new passport can be delivered by Poste Italiane directly to the applicant’s home.

The passport issuing service is added to the other services active in the Polis post offices, for example the collection of birth certificates and civil status certificatessocial security and voluntary jurisdiction practices.
