Life imprisonment for Cerda’s evil lovers, in the province of Palermo. The Palermo assize court, presided over by Sergio Gulotta, convicted Luana Cammalleri and Pietro Ferrara, Cerda’s two lovers, accused of killing the woman’s husband, Charles the Duke, and then made his body disappear, which was never found. The two defendants were present at the reading of the verdict. The Assize Court therefore found the two ‘diabolical lovers’, as they were baptized by the investigators, guilty.

The court accepted the reconstruction of the prosecutors Luisa Campanile and Alfredo Gagliardi who, from the beginning of the investigation, maintained that the two defendants had a clandestine relationship. According to the prosecution, they planned the murder and hid the body. Carlo La Duca disappeared on the morning of January 19, 2019. According to the reconstruction, the owner of an agricultural company left home to go to Cinisi to spend the weekend with his new partner. The motive that pushed the two defendants to murder remains unclear: the marriage to Luana Cammalleri was practically over. They both had relationships with other people.
