LECCE – Saturday 20 April (double set at 8pm and 10pm – entry 15|20 euros) at the Nasca venue – The theater in Via Siracusa 28 in Lecce, with the Linha de Passe project by singer Maria Pia De Vito and guitarist Roberto Taufic The Good Vibes – Musica Cultura Ambiente concert season continues. In fact, in 2024 the collaboration between the association continues, again with the artistic direction of the double bass player Marco Bardoscia, and the social and cultural space of the Salento capital, directed by the actor, author and director Ippolito Chiarello, creator of the Barbonaggio Teatrale, and by his company Nasca Teatri di Terra. After the Pinturas duo of Roberto Ottaviano and Nando Di Modugno, the four sold out Paolo Fresu Quartet with “Ferlinghetti” and the ensemble of bassist Pierluigi Balducci, the program, with the patronage of the Municipality of Lecce, will host Maria Pia De Vito, one of the most important voices of national and international jazz, for years on the scene with multifaceted projects and always of great interpretative and formal impact, supported by Roberto Taufic, a very elegant guitarist with notable musical refinement, composer and producer with a significant evocative force. «My collaboration with Roberto Taufic has lasted for more than a decade. I love his completeness, sensitivity, impeccability and his orchestral conception of the instrument and his writing as a composer”, underlines Maria Pia De Vito. «We played on many occasions as a duo, in a trio with Gabriele Mirabassi, Roberto Red Rossi or Huw Warren, with Enrico Rava in the concert on Vesuvius for Pomigliano jazz in 2015. Then Taufic took care of the arrangements of Core/Coração, my elaboration and translation into Neapolitan of the music of Chico Buarque, Guinga, Egberto Gismonti, Tom Jobim. And we now continue our explorations through authors such as Djavan, Joao Bosco, Milton Nascimento, bearers of even other colors and stylistic crossovers, practices that we love very much. This is in fact a duo of improvisers, walking on a “Linha de Passe” a line of passage between the Brazilian world, already so broad in references, jazz and other languages, on the transcultural line that is dear to me.” From this project comes a surprising organicity, which reveals how expressive worlds apparently so distant actually have many elements in common: melancholy, lyricism, fatalism and others more exquisitely lexical and melodic. An accurate work aimed at preserving intact the beauty, poetry and musicality of the original texts of origin of the various pieces proposed in the setlist and rendered in some cases, surprisingly, in the Neapolitan language, a formidable musical instrument, lyrical, rhythmic and visionary at the same time .

THE GUIDED VISITS CONTINUE TO DISCOVER THE RUDIAE ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK IN LECCE
With the new spring timetable, guided tours continue in the Rudiae archaeological park in Lecce: until May 26th, every Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 11am (entrance 8/6 euros) the public will be accompanied to discover the first Messapian city (VII century BC) and then Roman (3rd century BC), known above all for being the birthplace of the father of Latin literature Quintus Ennius (239-169 BC). The archaeological excavations, which began in the second half of the nineteenth century thanks to Duke Sigismondo Castromediano under the direction of Luigi De Simone, have brought to light areas of necropolis, underground tombs dug into the rock, portions of the Messapic fortifications, as well as sections of paved roads , places of worship and public buildings from the Roman era. At the center of the settlement is the Roman Amphitheatre, built during the reign of Emperor Trajan (98-117 AD) and recently brought to light. In fact, Lecce can boast two Roman amphitheaters just a few kilometers away: that of Lupiae in Piazza Sant’Oronzo, in the heart of the city, and that of ancient Rudiae, in the countryside on the outskirts of the Salento capital on the road to San Pietro in Lama . During the visits, the figure of Otacilia Secundilla will also be remembered, a young Roman woman who lived two thousand years ago who, with her philanthropic work, donated her savings for the construction of the Amphitheatre. Rudiae is one of the most important archaeological sites in Salento, today accessible thanks to the public-private partnership for the promotion and valorisation stipulated between the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Brindisi and Lecce and ARVa srl - spin off of the University of Salento, also on the basis of a prior agreement between the Superintendence itself and the Municipality of Lecce.

OSVALDO PILIEGO PRESENTS “BIANCHI VENEZIA” IN LECCE
A bike journey that crosses the places of memory: on Sunday 21 April (11:00 am – free entry) the courtyard of MUSTiciu, cafeteria of the MUST – Historical Museum of the city of Lecce, hosts the presentation of “Bianchi Venezia”. The new book by Osvaldo Piliego, with a note by Margherita Macrì, has just been released by Collettiva independent editions in the “Prose minime” series, with the editorial care of Simona Cleopazzo and Stefania Zecca. The Lecce-born author, writer, cultural planner and founding member of Coolclub, will talk with Dario Goffredo. There is a need for Memory, which is a living organism with its own autonomy, logic and chronology, to repeat its paths so that memories do not get lost. Time favors forgetfulness, distance. Memory, on the other hand, is resistant, it traces experiences, seeks them out and feeds on them. Thus the poet in this collection, riding his Bianchi Venezia, carries out his act of resistance: remembering, retracing, reliving, are actions duplicated several times so that everything remains fixed. Through a mapping of the city Piliego indicates his stages, restoring the geography of his gaze which does not surprise but preserves.

“DEAR WOLF” IT TAKES A FLOWER IN NOVOLI
The review It takes a flower – families at the theater promoted by Factory Compagnia Transadriatica in the Theaters of Northern Salento project continues. On Sunday 21 April (5.45pm – admission 8/6 euros) at the Teatro Comunale di Novoli, the Milanese company Drogheria Rebelot will propose “Caro wolf” with Miriam Costamagna, Andrea Lopez Nunes and Giacomo Occhi directing, dramaturgy and curating animation Nadia Milani (3/8 years). “Dear Wolf” is the beginning of a letter that has the flavor of a fairy tale. Mom, dad and Jolie, a courageous little girl with a vivid imagination, have just moved into a funny house in the middle of the woods. Jolie loves constellations, her inseparable teddy bear Boh and things that are a little scary. Her parents are eccentric and busy with many things, so they don’t believe her when the little girl notices an unusual presence coming from the woods, which both fascinates and terrifies her. And when Boh disappears, Jolie decides to set off in search of her into the unknown, she enters the woods, comes across dark shadows and when she thinks she is lost forever, Grandpa Knot and Grandma Bark will give her the key to face fear . Because it can be tamed and, if looked at closely, it can become small and precious. It always depends on our gaze on her. Before the show (4.30pm – free entry with reservation 3207087223) there will be space for “The Game of Shadows”, a collective visual storytelling workshop curated by BlaBlaBla. It takes a flower – Families at the Theater is part of the Theaters of Northern Salento project, promoted by Factory Compagnia Transadriatica in collaboration with BlaBlaBla, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Puglia Region, Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, the municipal administrations of Campi Salentina, Guagnano , Lecce, Leverano, Novoli, Trepuzzi and the OgniBene Library of Lecce.

“MY GRANDFATHER AND THE MULE” BY PRINCIPLE ACTIVE THEATER IN MELENDUGNO
Sunday 21 April (5.30 pm – entry 4 euros) at the Teatro Nuovo Cinema Paradiso in Piazza Risorgimento in Melendugno with “My grandfather and the mule” the first edition of Spring at the Theater continues. The event, conceived and organized by the Principio Attivo Teatro company, in collaboration with the Municipality of Melendugno, offers shows dedicated to children and their families ranging from narration, puppets and shadows. The cultural and theatrical programming of the Salento center is therefore enriched by this new experience which joins, for the first time, the consolidated season of prose and music created in collaboration with the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese. After the debut with “Jack and the Beanstalk (A story between earth and sky)” by the company La luna nel legge, the review continues with “My grandfather and the mule” by Principio actively theatre, inspired by a story by Vasilij Grossman, written and performed by Giuseppe Semeraro directed by Paola Leone (from 8 years). The show tells of a child and his beloved mule, enlisted and sent to the front. Their lives and their destinies will separate, but they will witness and experience the same terrible tragedy. The war is recalled through the memories of a grandfather but above all through the eyes of a mule who, more than men, is unable to understand the reasons for a war and that entirely human madness that pits men against each other. In the bitter events recounted, small events, facts, indications of a good that is still possible even in war emerge. A story about the stubborn strength of love. The mule will witness a thousand misadventures until he finds, once taken prisoner by the Russians, his love in a mare who will accompany him on his journey to freedom. Through this sweet and tender story I wanted to seek hope in that good that can explode without logic and without calculation just like evil. A story about the stubborn strength of love.
