Trani, week of events for the eighth anniversary of the Seca Foundation – TraniLive.it

A series of events in Trani will seal the 23 to 28 April the eighth anniversary of the intense activity of the SECA Foundationof the opening of Typewriter Museum, a real magnet of the Diocesan Museum Complex, housed in the rooms of Palazzo Lodispoto. An enchanting heritage that contains the history and evolution of typing. A prestigious collection that of the passionate Cav. Natale Pagano, unique and rare pieces displayed with extreme care, object of admiration of Italian and foreign tourists.

For the special birthday, an exciting program stands out, the result of the agreement between the SECA Foundation, chaired by Isabella Ciccolella, and the San Francesco di Sales Press Club, headed by Vincenzo Rutigliano. A lively event that calls into question the creativity of young students and the genius of the Ligurian artist Mattia Maio.

Off we go Tuesday 23 April at 9.30am in Piazza Duomo with “Writings in the light of the sun”, the key phrase of the original Flash Mob which involves students and journalists in the development of short stories, poems and reflections. Participants will have SECA Foundation typewriters at their disposal: different generations and cultures, free thoughts will mark the debut of the 2024 anniversary, in a fabulous setting, at the foot of the splendid Cathedral. Passers-by and visitors will also be able to try their hand at it. The writings will be evaluated by a special jury made up of members of the San Francesco de Sales Press Club.

Wednesday April 24th at 10.00 am in the Court of the Museum Complex the inauguration of Mattia Maio’s exhibition “Drawing with typewriters” is scheduled with a live performance by the eclectic artist, alias Mister Moustacchio, fresh from the success achieved on Rai2 during the talent show “From the street to the stage” hosted by Nek. With the anthological review of his works and with his peculiar technique of drawing with the typewriter, Mattia will reveal his unusual but surprising path. His paintings depicting Jimi Hendrix, Audrey Hepburn, Salvator Dalì, and other famous characters are strictly the result of the ticking of the keys of the vintage instrument.

In the afternoon on April 24th at 5.00 pm here is the debate “Mon Amour Typewriter”, experiences lived “in the field” by the journalists of the Press Club in their professional journey marked by an instrument now in disuse, replaced by the computer, the tablet, the mobile phone, in the name of speed , of the most advanced and sophisticated technology. Narrations and memories of past years spent in the editorial offices of various newspapers. To follow at 6.00 pm the awarding of the three best works by the participants in the Flash Mob “Writings in the light of the Sun”.

Thursday 25th, Friday 26th and Saturday 27th April the versatile Mattia Maio will continue to perform with his Live Performances in the morning, animating with his works the fascinating vintage atmosphere of an elegant, refined, practical and functional instrument. The exhibition on the typewriter, visually praised by Maio’s curious and exceptional artistic repertoire, can be visited until Sunday 28 April.
