Drunk driving, it’s continuous: 12 reported

Despite the information campaigns and, unfortunately, the tragic evidence of the consequences of this phenomenon, Driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs continues to be rampant. This is what emerges also in light of yet another very important territorial control service set up by the Carabinieri.

On the evening of April 18th it was carried out across the entire territory of the Province a coordinated control service arranged by the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Rovigo – confirms the press release from the Carabinieri – During this service, which saw the use of more than 20 soldiers, 60 vehicles and 83 people were subjected to checks, as well as 13 public establishments – in particular bars – and 8 subjects subject to various legal obligations (house arrest, residence obligations)”.

“A total of 12 people were reported for driving under the influence of alcohol, of which one also tested positive for cocaine intake and was therefore reported to the Prefecture. The same report was made against a 23-year-old from Copparo, who, while driving his car, was found in possession of approximately one gram of hashish”.

“Also as part of the checks carried out, a 26-year-old resident in Taglio di Po he had his car subjected to administrative seizure as it was without insurance coverage, while a 61-year-old from Ceregnano (Ro) was reported for driving without a license as it had previously been revoked. Finally, a 27-year-old resident in Villadose was reported for the crime of violation of the compulsory exit permit against whom, subjected to checks in the capital together with a group of friends who disturbed the public peace, the aforementioned provision was issued by the Police Commissioner of Rovigo”.
