A day in the woods of Folignate. The Colfiorito Woods Festival will take place on Sunday 21 April, an initiative to discover nature between cultural and naturalistic events.

It will begin with the event “Discovering Colfalcone”, from 9am to 1pm, a circular excursion to Colfalcone, a special conservation area (ZSC), organized in collaboration with the Gmp Gaia Aps association, during which it will be possible admire the oak and white hornbeam woods, the characteristic pastures and the flowering of orchids. The meeting will be in Colfiorito at the Park headquarters and it will be possible to participate by paying a daily insurance fee of 5 euros (for more information contact the number 3341546609).

Also on the program is “From the friendly tree to the sheet of paper”, from 10am to 12pm: it is a workshop on the production of paper, during which it will be possible to transform waste paper into new paper, learning recycling and reuse techniques that they allow us to preserve forests and save water and energy. A free activity for adults and children, organized in collaboration with Fie – Valle Umbra Trekking, which will take place in the Colfiorito Park headquarters (for information and reservations contact the number 3280073430).

From 4pm to 5.30pm, however, the appointment is with “Readings in the shadow of Nonno Salice” organized by the Foligno Library with the volunteers of “Nati per legge”. An introductory reading activity reserved for pre-school children who will be able to participate with their parents and which will take place in the “Pratarelle” green area of ​​Colfiorito or in case of bad weather at the Naturalistic Museum (for more information contact 3385876122).

Finally, scheduled from 5.30pm to 7pm, there will be “The Forest in 10, 100, 1000 Tessere”, a workshop reserved for families to discover the art of mosaic organized by CoopCulture. A paid activity (8 euros per child) which also includes a guided tour of the Archaeological Museum of Colfiorito (for information and reservations 0742330584/681198).
