In the next round, valid for Group C of the Serie C championship, Catania will be involved in the away match against Potenza. The Etna fans, in particular from the Curva Sud, have issued a statement, as reported by TuttoCalcioCatania, declaring that they will not be present in the away match against Potenza.

Let it be clear, we love regardless, tied to our colors and our faith. In a visceral way we often put Catania before family, work, personal commitments. We have always been there and will always be there! But we also have a dignity, our coherence, of which we are proud and we are certainly not puppets to be commanded and managed at will! For us, organizing an away trip means commitment, time, money, sacrifices, sacrifices… we have a structured organization and a line to follow, especially when it comes to supporting our colors outside friendly walls and we certainly can’t ‘improvise’.
Public order must be managed in a serious and coherent way, with due attention and care, so that everything develops in a simple, safe and linear way. Clear and direct communication must be the basis of the dialogue between the parties, and certain choices and decisions must be made in the right manner and time. We cannot accept continuous upheavals, uncertainties, small last minute concessions and continuous buck-passing!
“Those who want to play with our feelings and manage us without meeting our needs will not find fertile ground and will never have our consent… because before being ultras and Catania fans, we are men with a private life, a job, a family , who bend over backwards to be able to reconcile and manage everything in the best possible way (naturally always and only at our expense). We do not accept favoritism and sops from anyone, especially from those who should guarantee order. And if this means sacrificing our presence in the last away match of the championship (with a risk rate equal to zero and with no precedent in the case), we will reluctantly make this painful decision, however one made with rationality and coherence!
The granting of around 120 tickets for a fan base like ours, for a match of such importance for the entire season, is a lack of respect not only towards the entire movement, but towards the entire Etna fan base, which is denied the possibility of being present to support one’s colors without a plausible reason! Yet another unacceptable imposition, which is added to the numerous ones suffered during the entire season, where we swallowed several bitter pills, without ever challenging the work of the professionals. But everything has a limit, now the time has come to take a firm position regarding certain wicked decisions that make no logical sense! Our dignity and worth are priceless. Proud of who we are and of the passion we live, we continue on our path, always with our heads held high. For the honor of Catania!”.
