“I am particularly happy for the inauguration of the new headquarters of the National Agency for Confiscated Assets of Reggio Calabria. I am especially happy for the fact that this new headquarters is located in a property, located in the heart of the city, confiscated from a Reggio boss. This is a choice with a very high symbolic value, with which the State reaffirms, strongly and publicly, its authority in the face of the ‘Ndrangheta, giving back to the community what the clans have taken from it and demonstrating that commanding the territory does not they are and cannot be the leaders.” Thus, in a note, the Reggio Senator of the League, Tilde Minasiwho continues: “I take this opportunity to thank Minister Matteo Piantedosi for his presence in the city on this very important occasion and for the sensitivity he is demonstrating towards our territory. Unfortunately, institutional commitments in Rome kept me away from this event, which I however experienced with full and emotional participation, precisely because of everything it represents.”

“Reggio and Calabria will continue to play a fundamental role in terms of confiscated assets and in a constructive way, thanks to the activities of the Agency which are strengthened – says the Senator – in spite of those who in previous years had even attempted to close this office, which was originally the main headquarters of the institution. Even in the Anti-Mafia Parliamentary Commission we are dealing with this sector with enormous attention, to improve the legislation on the subject and make the assignments increasingly rapid and effective, so as to respond more concretely and promptly to the mafia’s excessive power, which precisely from the subtraction of the accumulated assets illicitly suffers a severe blow. So good work – concludes Minasi – to the Director, the prefect Bruno Corda, and to all the employees of the Agency and thanks for their invaluable commitment. I will go to visit the new headquarters and meet them personally as soon as possible.”
