What match are you expecting at the Mapei Stadium?
“I expect a very open match. Sassuolo has shown that they know how to start on the counterattack and do badly and in the last two outings they have often invited well from the first minutes. The first half hour will be the key to the match, because Sassuolo and especially Pinamonti tend to find the way to the net right at the start of the match.”
How do you judge the Sassuolo and Lecce championships to date? Do you think they will achieve their respective goals?
“No one could have expected a championship like this for both teams. Sassuolo for the past seasons, in which they have practically always obtained a quiet salvation, except in the first. Lecce, on the other hand, had started very well and I didn’t expect such a heavy collapse. Despite this, Gotti and Ballardini, with different results, made the teams competitive again and ready for a fiery end to the season. It’s difficult to make predictions, but I would say that Lecce is well on its way towards achieving their objective, while Sassuolo is in full swing for salvation.”
How much do you think it might weigh on the black and green team, at this stage of the season, to almost never be able to count on a “numerical superiority” in terms of support within friendly walls?
“It matters, without a doubt. Not only against the big teams, like Milan on the last day, but above all against the teams fighting for survival, this is precisely what makes the difference. Even against Lecce this could be an important factor.”
How should the Tuscans take the field against the Giallorossi?
“In goal Consigli is not in question, protagonist of a super match against Milan. In defence, however, there are several doubts. In the center there will be Erlic and Ferrari, while on the sides it is conceivable to think of Tressoldi on the right, with one of Viti or Doig on the left. Boloca and Racic in front of the defense, in a run-off with Matheus Henrique. In the attacking midfield, Volpato is a possible starter in place of Defrel, with Thorstvedt in the center and Laurienté on the left. However, there are no doubts regarding the presence of Pinamonti as the sole striker.”
