Waste abandonment, already over one hundred reports in 2024 / Cesena / Home

The Municipality takes stock of the fight against the indiscriminate abandonment of waste and to incorrect contributions regarding continuous separate waste collection in the city. In this regard, the municipal administration, Hera and the local police continue to work together on two fronts: on the one hand through greater controls and sanctions against abandonments and on the other through awareness actions of citizens and of active involvement of them with initiatives defined in agreement with some local associations.

To date, they are active in the municipal territory six camera trapsdirectly managed by Hera, e four more headed by the “Fiorini” Command in via Natale Dell’Amore.

From 2019 to 2023 they were 735 minutes of verification of administrative violations that the local police has drawn up following three main work lines: direct verification carried out by the agents, qualified reports from Hera’s environmental inspectors who inspect the waste disposed of incorrectly, investigations carried out thanks to the camera traps positioned in the ecological islands. Instead they are 115 minutes drawn up since January 2024 to date, significantly increasing thanks to camera traps, which will soon be implemented with additional devices thanks to a Pnrr financing assigned to Hera.

During 2023 Hera’s investigating agents carried out 1,872 interventions (from which they came 104 sanctions) is already 470 during the first months of the current year.

Since January 1st, a new one has also been active in the municipal area of ​​Cesena investigating agent, additional to the three already employed in 17 municipalities in the Cesenate area, which carries out checks in the Cesena area during the week, on the days of display and collection of undifferentiated waste. The agent’s task is to monitor user behavior by checking incorrect exposures and provide tutoring. Furthermore, it verbalizes incorrect behavior by reporting it to the local police who then assesses the sanctions for the identified violators. Incorrect deliveries are also reported by the collection operators via i yellow dots which are applied to the bags, which are not collected. Further support is represented by Volunteer ecological guards who, five days a week, carry out control and awareness-raising activities.
