Microcamera and earphones to cheat on the exam

Friday 19 April 2024 – 1.26pm

Microcamera, earpiece and prompter, all for the price of 1500 euros to cheat on the driving license exam. The candidate, a 45-year-old man, was discovered by the police together with his two alleged accomplices aged 27 and 40, who would have equipped him with the necessary equipment before he entered the DMV for the quiz.

From the investigations conducted, a system emerged whereby, in exchange for a fee to pass the theoretical exam, the accomplices offer a “license package” complete, consisting of microcameras, microphones and earphones connected with a prompter positioned outside the exam room. For some time now, the Road Traffic Authority has had a team in place that analyses, for each DMV exam session, the potential presence of would-be fraudsters, then also trying to identify accomplices.

And yesterday this further circle closed with the denunciation of the candidate and his two alleged accomplices, who were waiting for him in the car. One of them, reached by the police after attempting to escape, had with him 1500 euros which, according to what has been reconstructed, should be attributed to the payment for the “service”. The money was seized along with all the equipment.
