Booksellers’ Fair, the 65th edition starts on Saturday 20 April

Bergamo. The 65th Bergamo Booksellers’ Fair will be inaugurated on Saturday 20 April 2024 at 12.00 with the traditional cutting of the ribbon in the presence of the authorities and supporting partners of the event. The Booksellers’ Fair is scheduled from April 20th to May 1st in the tensile structure located on the Bergamo trail and is organized by Confesercenti Promotions, the Italian Booksellers Union (SIL) and the independent bookshops belonging to Li.Ber – Bergamaschi Booksellers Association. More than 80 authors and a varied program which, alongside new releases from the national publishing scene, offers in-depth analysis, local stories and moments of sharing suitable for all ages. There are three meeting locations, in addition to the Meeting Space set up inside the Fair, the meetings are hosted in theAuditorium in Piazza Libertàat Donizetti Studio while some special events will be held in NXT Station in Piazzale degli Alpini.

On April 21st in the Auditorium of Piazza Libertà the Strega Tour Award 2024. Starting from 3.00 pm, the twelve finalists of the prestigious literary prize will present their works in dialogue with three exceptional speakers. At 3.00 pm, introduced by the podcaster and radio speaker Gianpiero Kesten there will be: Chiara ValerioWho says and who is silent (Sellerio); Tommaso GiartosioAutobiogrammatica (minimum fax); Valentina MiraOn the same side you will find me (SEM); Dario VoltoliniWinter (The Ship of Theseus).

The 65th edition of the Booksellers’ Fair is free to enter as it has always been in the past, thanks to the effort of the booksellers who organize the fair. The books of the guest authors are present at the fair and during the meetings, purchasing them in these places is the true and concrete act of support that all readers who love the Booksellers’ Fair can do to support the event.
