With the end of the championship, Vittoria Calcio celebrates a season that will remain etched in the history books of local football. The red and white team has achieved extraordinary results, culminating in a sporting record that attests to its greatness.
First of all, Vittoria stands out as the only undefeated team not only in Sicily, but also in Italy, sharing this prestigious recognition with four other teams from different regions: Mosciano (Abruzzo), Ovadese (Piedmont), Monastir (Sardinia) and Brixen (South Tyrol).
At a national level, out of 877 promotion teams from all over Italy, Vittoria ranks among the best in terms of goals scored, with 100 goals scored during the championship played with 14 teams.
In the group with 16 teams, the best team at national level in terms of goals scored is Heraclea (Campania) with 106 goals, followed by Vittoria with 100 goals, Avigliano (Basilicata) with 88 goals and Monastir with 82 goals scored.
In terms of goals conceded, Vittoria is also among the best, with only 11 goals conceded during the entire championship. The best team in this area is Real Cassino (Lazio) with only 9 goals conceded, followed by Sestese (Tuscany) and Vittoria with 11 goals conceded each, and Benacense (Trentino) with 13 goals conceded.
The season was marked by an extraordinary goal average, with 3,846 goals scored per game, and a points average of 2,615, attesting to the team’s consistency and determination in achieving positive results.
Another significant figure is represented by the players who scored: all the players in the squad contributed with at least one goal, demonstrating the effectiveness and solidarity of the group.
Particular praise goes to Vito Morra, who stood out as the top scorer in Group D of Promotion and the Regional Italian Cup in the category, demonstrating his skill and determination on the pitch.
The season continues on April 14, 2024, with the first leg counting towards the semi-final of the Italian Cup against Valdinisi. Mister Rufini has prepared the team as best as possible to face this important challenge, working with the best training available.
Despite the absences due to disqualification of Francesco Russo and Fabian Mititelu, the rest of the team trained regularly, demonstrating their commitment and determination in facing every challenge with the utmost preparation and professionalism.
Kick-off is scheduled for 4.30pm, and the entire city of Vittoria is invited to support their team at this important moment of the season.
