The official Cavallino driver is ready for the only home round of the World Endurance Championship, where he returns to the wheel of the LMGT3 number 55 from Maranello managed by the Vista AF Corse team after the fastest lap and seventh place obtained in Qatar together with his crew mates François Heriau and Simon Mann. The Italian 6 Hours takes place on Sunday from 1pm with live TV on Eurosport 2 and on demand on the apps

Varese. The commitments in the 2024 World Endurance Championship are back for Alessio Rovera and the occasion is a special one: the FIA World Endurance Championship stops in Italy, for the first time on the Imola circuit, and the official Ferrari driver is ready to relaunch in the test home, the second of the season after the opening in Qatar. On the weekend of 21 April Rovera will line up at the start of the 6 Hours of Imola with the Ferrari 296 LMGT3 number 55 managed by Vista AF Corse together with his traveling companions who will support him for the entire World Championship, the Frenchman François Heriau and the American Simon Mann . In the first round of the championship the crew of the Italian team finished in seventh position, earning the first points in the standings, but the objective can only be to aim much higher. Right on the Lusail circuit, Rovera set the fastest lap of the 1812 Kilometers of Qatar and also in Imola he will try to provide his maximum contribution to climb the rankings as much as possible. The 28-year-old driver from Varese is also fresh from his success at the 4 Hours of Barcelona in the LMP2 Pro-Am class upon his return to the prototypes last weekend (also in this case embellished with the fastest lap).

37 cars (18 GTs) are expected to start on the 4909 meters of the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Autodromo from 19 to 21 April: the first two free practices are scheduled for Friday at 12.00 and 17.15. On Saturday, FP3 will take place from 11.10am to 12.10pm, while the LMGT3 class qualifying will be held from 2.45pm: the best ten will enter the Hyperpole (from 3.25pm to 3.35pm) to establish the starting grid for the first five rows. The 6 Hours of Imola starts on Sunday at 1pm. In Italy the Eurosport 2 channel will broadcast the race with connections from 12.30 to 14.00 and from 15.30 until after the race. Full live streaming is also available on the Eurosport app, Discovery+ app and on fiawec.tv.

Rovera declares ahead of the home round of the FIA WEC: “I can’t wait to compete in Imola more than a month and a half after the first round in Qatar. In Italy I expect a test similar in some respects to that of Lusail, with the competitive Ferrari 296 LMGT3s. Our goal is to get on the podium, while the dream is to give a victory to our fans. Personally, I like the Imola track very much: I have competed there many times in the past, in the various Italian categories, so I know this track well and I am sure that the 6 Hours of Imola will be a race that will provide a spectacle.”.
