VIDEO-On April 22nd the first take of ‘Sandokan’ with Can Yaman: everything is ready in the Lamezia Terme studios

Filming will begin on April 22nd Sandokan, an international event series, produced by Lux Vide, a Fremantle group company, in collaboration with Rai Fiction. The series, adaptation of the historical saga written by Emilio Salgari, will be interpreted by Can Yaman in the protagonist role. Also in the cast is the newcomer Alanah Bloor in the role of Marianna, Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl, Children of Men) as the charming antagonist Lord Brooke, while will Alessandro Preziosi (The Doctors, Black Out, The lying life of adults) to give the face to the iconic Yanez de Gomera. Filming will also take place in the suggestive area Calabriawhere the English colony of Labuan was built in the industrial area of Lamezia Terme, and which will serve as the backdrop for part of the filming. Lux “arrives” in this region for the first time, with the support of the Film Commission and the Calabria Region which were crucial partners for the operation. Sandokan will soon be broadcast on Rai1 and will be distributed worldwide by Fremantle International and in Spain by Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group.

Meanwhile, Can Yaman continues his athletic preparation to best interpret the role of “Malaysian tiger”. “Thanks to the legendary Ennio – he writes on social media – for injecting into me the importance of certain concepts that helped revolutionize me physically and above all mentally to be 100% ready for my character Sandokan. 4 months of ‘torture’ and I feel lighter, more agile and athletic; my weight is right and above all stronger legs. It was our turn to thank you and pay homage since filming starts in a week.”
