Macerata, De Padova and the rift with Parcaroli which becomes definitive: “I will move to the mixed group” – Picchio News

“After numerous vicissitudes, not always pleasant, I have decided, in the next city council meeting, to communicate my transition to the mixed group”. Announcing the definitive split with the majority led by mayor Sandro Parcaroli, is the city councilor Sabrina De Padova. “During my mandate, I did not share various opinions, as highlighted in my questions, in my votes, in the proposals of my agendas in support of the Macerata community that voted for us”, he explains.

De Padova defines herself as “astonished” by “the attitude of a mayor who continually protects and defends the same councilor, even exposing himself publicly and threatening to resign in case of failure to approve the library regulation proposed by the aforementioned councillor”. The reference is to the councilor for culture Katuscia Cassetta who – according to the councilor – “has not always adequately managed the money of the citizens of Macerata, given a liability of 200,000 euros per year and the failure to publish the Sferisterio budgets, which were continuously requested for 2 years”.

“In the city council – adds De Padova – it became clear a lack of respect towards the citizens of Macerata, residents in via Panfilo, who have mobilized three times to prevent a green area from becoming buildable. They went to the council to try to assert their rights, and the variation to the PRG in via Panfilo was postponed 3 times, perhaps due to fear of an appeal to the TAR”.

“Unfortunately, the legal costs are always borne by the unfortunate citizens who are forced to turn to the Administrative Court to assert their rights, having to then bear the costs privately and as taxpayers – the councilor notes -. The same situation that the trader Perini, owner of the ‘Hab’ club, found himself having to endure, who had to appeal to the TAR despite the undersigned trying to make the council aware of the validity of his convictions, supported by the opinion of the local police”.

“It is absurd – concludes De Padova – that before making a project the presence of public green spaces is not assessed, deciding to cut down trees at full blast in any part of the city. The amount of money made available in the 2024/26 budget change, for the environment, is only 27,500 euros. A measure that highlights this administration’s lack of sensitivity to the ecosystem.”
